'Solar Mamas' light up rural communities with solar power - BBC Africa

    Women in Zanzibar are being offered the chance to train up as solar power technicians in a programme which has already seen great success in other parts of the continent. The Solar Mamas initiative aims to provide jobs for local women who are often left out of education or employment – as well as bring light to rural communities, nearly half of which live off the archipelago’s electricity grid.
