Stampede kills 2 at Nyayo

Two people have died and tens of others were injured in a stampede at Nyayo National Stadium when thousands were allowed to view the body of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. The incident happened minutes after the end of a state funeral ceremony, which was largely a military affair. 12 military officers in the rank of major were the pallbearers who moved the casket from Lee Funeral Home to parliament and eventually to the Nyayo National Stadium, where thousands gathered to pay their last respects
