President William Ruto's administration's association with the Rapid Support Forces, one of the warring parties in Sudan, was once again thrown into sharp focus this week with Doctors Without Borders (MSF) releasing a report that shows the RSF has waged a systemic campaign of rape against women and children in Darfur. Between January 2024 and November 2025, MSF attended to 3,396 victims of sexual violence in North and South Darfur. Twenty per cent of whom were children under the age of 18. Rapes perpetrated predominantly by the RSF, according to victim accounts. The documented accounts also indicate that RSF fighters target women and children who are non-Arab.
