Three suspects held for seven more days over attack on Senator Osotsi

Three suspects arrested in connection to the attack on Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi will be detained for seven more days to facilitate completion of investigations. In his ruling, Kisumu Law Courts resident magistrate Daniel Chumba said that the prosecution had laid out sufficient reason to conduct forensic analysis as well as recording witnesses’ statements. This comes even as leaders from across the political divide condemned what they said is the rising trend of political violence, with Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen challenging claims made by the opposition that the attackers were acting on behalf of Interior PS Raymond Omollo.
