    The seven medalists from the world athletics championships in Tokyo Japan are the first beneficiaries of the new reward scheme by the government for sports men and women who do well at global championships. With each gold medalist receiving three million shillings, silver medalists getting two million shillings, and bronze medalists earning one million shillings, world 10 000m and 5000m champion Beatrice Chebet was the biggest beneficiary getting six million shillings while 1500m champion Faith Kipyegon received five million shillings for winning gold and silver
