Traders in Makutano market,calls for speedy completion of facility

    Traders in Makutano Market along Embu-Nairobi Highway have appealed to the national government to fast-track completion of the modern Economic Stimulus Package (ESP) market, which stalled in July after the vandalism that took place during Saba Saba anniversary protests. The modern market which is 90 percent complete, will host 700 traders and include cold storage, stalls, sanitation facilities, and eateries. Market chairlady Joyce Wanjiku appealed for its completion before the short rains. Raymond Kinyua, assured traders that they were in talks with the National Government to solve the challenges, and have the market completed soonest.
