Tuju charged over alleged false abduction report

Former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju has been arraigned before a Kibera Law Courts in Nairobi, and charged with giving false information to a police officer. The court heard that on March 1, 2026, in Karen, Tuju allegedly reported to a police officer that he had been abducted, information the prosecution says was false. He denied the charge and pleaded not guilty. Tuju was released on a personal bond of 100,000 shillings.
