A coalition of victims and survivors of state violence has moved to court to challenge the exclusion of victims of enforced disappearances and torture from the ongoing compensation programme. The victims accuse the panel of experts on compensation, led by Makau Mutua, of introducing what they term an unlawful authentication process that could lock out victims whose claims had already been verified by the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights.
