Western and Nyanza leaders are pushing for a political alliance aimed at consolidating more than seven million votes behind President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election, while positioning the regions to pursue the presidency in 2032. Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi and Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula urged residents to unite politically, citing historical ties and the need to secure development and greater political influence. However, ACK Maseno West Bishop Haung Godia cautioned leaders against allowing political competition to create permanent divisions among Kenyans.
