    The city of el-Fasher had been the Sudanese army's last stronghold in the Darfur region. That changed on Sunday, when it was captured by the rival Rapid Support Forces (RSF) after an 18-month siege marked by starvation and heavy bombardment. Could this be a significat turning point in the Sudanese civil war? How does the fall of el-Fasher strengthen the RSF's position to determine the country's future?
