Women have been urged to report cases of abuse early to enable authorities and support organisations to intervene in time and prevent further harm.
Speaking during the launch of a young mothers’ office in Mariakani, Kilifi County, women leaders called on victims of abuse to break the silence and seek help before the situation worsens.
Led by the area MCA, Martha Kokie, the leaders noted that many women often suffer in silence, which sometimes results in severe injuries or even loss of life.
The women leaders encouraged women to support one another and foster unity within their communities while working together to address challenges affecting them.
