4 Activists Challenge Legality of Ruto’s Panel on Protest Compensation

Four activists have moved to the High Court challenging President William Ruto’s decision to appoint a panel of experts to oversee compensation for victims of demonstrations. The group, led by Nakuru-based consultant trauma surgeon Dr. Magare Gikenyi and Eliud Matindi, filed the petition at the Milimani Constitutional and Human Rights Division on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.
