Police Heighten Security Ahead of Africa Forward Summit 2026 in Nairobi

National police service has heightened security ahead of the two-day Africa Forward Summit 2026 scheduled for Monday and Tuesday next week. Nairobi County Regional police Commander Issa Mohamud, who spoke on behalf of the Inspector General of police service, Douglas Kanja said security has been intensified with a 24/7 surveillance and police presence in all public spaces countrywide. The National police service further announced temporary traffic disruptions on major roads during the two-day summit to be co-hosted by Kenya's President William Ruto and France's President Emmanuel Macron. The affected roads include Mombasa road, Thika superhighway road and Kiambu road, among others.
