Rex Masai Murder Trial: Key Witness Fails to Identify Officer in Photos

The murder trial of activist Rex Kanyike Masai took a dramatic turn on Monday after a police witness failed to identify the main suspect, Corporal Isaiah Murangiri, in photos tabled in court. Corporal Fredrick Odera Okapesi, who is in charge of the Central Police Station armoury, had earlier told the court he knew Murangiri. Still, when photos captured during the June 2024 anti-Finance protests were displayed, he said the person resembled another officer, Benson Kamau.
