There’s a worrying trend of parents using the skin lightening products on babies and young children in Nigeria. The World Health Organisation says it has Africa’s highest skin bleaching rate amongst women at 77% and one of the highest in the world. Nigeria declared skin lightening a health emergency in 2023.
