The crisis at Nyamira County Assembly is set to be a subject of investigation by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission after the Senate gave the green light for investigations on the two parallel county assemblies. Senators adopted a report by the Devolution committee, which recommended, among others, investigations into how a county assembly operating outside a gazetted premise continued to draw funds from the public coffers, as well as ordered the recovery of allowances paid to the MCAS and speakers in the illegal assembly. Nyamira County has been operating two parallel county assemblies, one chaired by the speaker who was impeached 9 months ago.
