Employer ordered to pay househelp KSh 569,717 for unfair dismissal

A Court of Appeal in Kisumu has upheld that Grace Misango was unfairly dismissed by her employer, Rahim Ibrahim, and ordered him to pay her Ksh569,717 for unlawful termination, underpayment, lack of leave, failure to remit NSSF deductions, and not providing house allowance. Misango worked for Rahim for six years, from 2018 to March 2024, earning Ksh4,000 per month before her services were terminated without notice or a valid reason.
