Imagine a life where women carry clothes to a field, wash them using water from a shallow pan, sun-dry them for hours, and then embark on the long journey back home. This is the daily reality for women in Konyango village, central Kasipul, Homa Bay County, who have struggled with water scarcity for over a decade. For them, the upcoming by-election offers another chance to head to the ballot and elect a leader they hope will finally make their dream of piped water a reality. The police announced the deployment of more than 900 officers to ensure security during the by-election.
