Opposition picks up seats in Bungoma, Nairobi & Narok

The ruling UDA party suffered setbacks in several ward by-elections, with Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s party clinching three seats including in regions traditionally considered government strongholds. Victories in narok town, kisa ward, and kariobangi north signalledheightened political competition ahead of the 2027 general election. And while UDA still secured a number of key wards, the by-elections served as a crucial litmus test of the party’s strength and the political mood in the country.
