A recent TIFA survey conducted in November 2025 shows that Kenyans have mixed opinions on the new Social Health Authority (SHA) services, the government’s replacement for the old NHIF scheme. Slightly over half (55 per cent) of adults surveyed have registered with SHA, and among them, 56 per cent have accessed medical services through it. Of those who used the services, about half expressed satisfaction, with 29 per cent very satisfied and 35 per cent somewhat satisfied, while 37 per cent reported some level of dissatisfaction.
