    The fight against abuse of domestic workers has been given a boost by Global Affairs Canada through oxfam, Youth Alive and Centre for Domestic Training and Development (CDTD). According to Rahma Issa, the program officer at Youth Alive Kenya, the aim of the project is to influence policy conversation and to change the norms and cultural beliefs in the community, even beyond 16 days of activism. High prevalence of gender-based violence (GBV), especially in Nairobi/kiambu, with emotional abuse (49.9%) being most common, followed by economic, sexual, and physical violence.
