India has signalled its intention to further deepen bilateral ties with Kenya, with a view to elevating the relationship to a higher strategic level. India’s new High Commissioner to Kenya, Dr. Adarsh Swaika, said the long-standing partnership between the two countries has been mutually beneficial. He noted that India has provided economic support while also facilitating the easy movement of people through user-friendly measures, including the introduction of electronic visas. To further strengthen engagement with the continent, Dr. Swaika said India has so far convened three editions of the India–Africa Summit, underscoring New Delhi’s commitment to closer cooperation with African nations, including Kenya.
