Uganda’s Electoral Commission has declared President Yoweri Museveni the winner of the 2026 presidential election, granting him a seventh term in office. Museveni, 81, garnered 71.65 percent of the vote, defeating main challenger Bobi Wine, who received 24.72 percent. The result extends Museveni’s leadership of Uganda by another five years, further cementing his four-decade grip on power.
