Sixty-eight bright students from humble backgrounds in Malindi Sub-County have secured full scholarships under the Elimu Scholarship Programme, sponsored by the Jomo Kenyatta Foundation.
Malindi Member of Parliament Amina Mnyazi, who officially flagged off the beneficiaries at the Malindi Sub-County Education Office, lauded the Government and the Foundation for easing the heavy financial burden on struggling families.
Ms Mnyazi noted that many households in her constituency cannot afford to send their children to senior schools. She urged the expansion of the programme to cover more learners, ensuring that all deserving children have access to quality education.
