Duale: SHA package for cancer patients up from Sh 500,000 to Sh 800,000

Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has emphasized the government’s commitment to enhance access to cancer treatment by increasing its package under the Social Health Insurance Fund from half a million shillings to 800,000 shillings. Speaking at Coast General Teaching and Referral hospital in Mombasa county while inspecting a newly constructed cancer centre, Duale said the government will pay for service level agreements to ensure cancer treatment machines are serviced. Mombasa county governor Abdulswamad Nassir offered land for construction of a specialized cancer ward at the facility.
