Kisii County Commissioner Chaunga Mwachaunga has decried high numbers of suicide and defilement cases among other social ills in Kisii County, and called for cooperation among partners to end the vice.
Speaking in his office during a visit by the Nyanza Western Kenya Caucus of Internally Displaced persons, Mwachaunga also noted the increasing cases of family wrangles instigated by disputed land ownership issues.
Mwachaunga said the vices were deeply rooted, depicting negative cultural values within the community, especially now that they are becoming increasingly secretive, opting to resolve their cases out of court.
