An elders’ council from the Abagusii community has renewed its demand for the return of the remains of a legendary warrior Otenyo Nyamaterere from Britain, more than a century after his death during the colonial era. The Mwanyagetinge Heritage Council said the British government had maintained an uncompromising stance on handing over Otenyo’s head, which was allegedly taken abroad after he was killed by colonial soldiers in 1908.
