Young Okil Kamalika Lawyers, in partnership with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), the Office of the Attorney General, Social Health Authority (SHA), Huduma Kenya, and the National Legal Aid and Awareness Service (NLAS), have rolled out free legal aid clinics aimed at easing the high cost of accessing essential legal and government services. The initiative focuses on assisting residents with the acquisition and replacement of national identification cards and birth certificates, as well as voter registration and SHA enrollment. The clinics were held at the Deputy County Commissioner’s Office in Mathare, where they were warmly received by residents who cited significant relief from the availability of free and decentralized government services.
