14 Counties risk not receiving Funds for the current financial year after their respective Governors gave prominence to a retreat at the coast over accounting for how they used public funds for the financial years 2024/2025. The 14 include Lamu, Laikipia, Tharaka Nithi, Muranga, Embu, Baringo, Nandi, Siaya, Tana River, Nyandarua, Mombasa, Makueni, Elgeyo Marakwet and Kajiado. The governor boycotted the Senate County Public Investment Committee over audit queries.
