A section of traders at Kakamega Main Market are counting losses after a fire broke out over the weekend, destroying property of unknown value. The fire is reported to have started at a nearby workshop where a technician was repairing a power saw, before quickly spreading to adjacent shops. One vehicle was also destroyed in the inferno.
