Bright student fails to raise university fees for two years

Imagine being among the best students nationally in the KCSE examination and even getting your name read by the education cabinet secretary for your stellar performance in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education national examination. And failing to join not one but two universities for lack of school fees for two years. This is the situation a student in Meru County finds himself in painting a grim picture for bright but needy students failing to join university due to lack of funds.
