    A case filed by residents of Mwachome village in Matuga constituency, Kwale County, against Bamburi Cement Company at the Mombasa High Court will be mentioned on the 9th of October in Mombasa for further directions. Kwale Environment and Land Court Judge Lucas Naikuni says the case should be amended to comply with legal principles before it is brought to the Environmental and Land Court in Kwale for a hearing and ruling. Residents of Mwachome accuse Bamburi Cement Company of violating the agreement after delaying compensation for their land since 2022.
