The new facility, designed to ease movement between key routes including Mombasa Road, Upper Hill, Westlands, and the Railway terminus, is expected to significantly boost Nairobi’s transport network. Equipped with seven standby generators, CCTV cameras, a water pump for drainage, and a lift for persons with disabilities, the elderly, and expectant mothers, the underpass also includes plans for a police post to enhance security. To ensure sustainability, it will feature shops, billboards, and rental spaces for revenue generation. Members of the National Assembly Transport Committee lauded the project as a major step toward decongesting the city once it opens to the public.
