Kenya Kwanza Leaders led by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki have faulted Democracy for Citizens Party Leader Rigathi Gachagua over claims that the administration has an ulterior motive after abolishing Identification Card vetting for residents of the Northeastern region ahead of the 2027 polls. Speaking at a Resource mobilisation for small-scale traders affected by a Fire Tragedy in Garissa County, Kindiki defended the president’s decision, noting that the vetting process denied the residents of northern Kenya equal opportunities like the rest of Kenyans.
