The Country is in mourning after at least 17 pupils died and 14 others were injured in a dormitory fire on Thursday night at Hillside Endarasha Academy in Kieni West Sub County, Nyeri County. Nyeri County Commissioner Pius Murugu said the deceased pupils were burnt beyond recognition. Murugu said the injured are admitted to Nyeri County Referral Hospital. The Nyeri County commissioner also confirmed that homicide detectives from Nairobi are at the scene to ascertain the cause of the fatal inferno at the school.
