15 dead in Nyeri-Mweiga road accident, survivors in critical condition

We begin the bulletin on a sad note: 15 people have lost their lives in a grisly road accident along the Nyeri-Mweiga Road near Kimathi University. The accident involved a 14-seater public service vehicle and a lorry. It is reported that the driver of the lorry, ferrying firewood, swerved to avoid hitting a cyclist and rammed head-on into the matatu travelling from Nyeri town to Mweiga. Survivors have been rushed to Nyeri County Referral Hospital in critical condition.
