Migori County government has opened 18 medical facilities that had stalled for over a decade, to improve healthcare services in remote areas of the county. Speaking at the official launch, Migori County Governor Ochilo Ayacko noted that the initiative is in line with the county’s commitment to achieving affordable universal health coverage.Governor Ayacko further noted that the launched health facilities intend to reduce the distance patients especially women and children had to travel to access a healthcare service. On her part, Migori Chief Officer in charge of Public Health Services, Mabel Chanzu noted that the new facilities will significantly increase the number of immunization centers in the county.
