A new apprenticeship programme targeting 280 young people in Mombasa aims to bridge the shortage of skilled plumbers and electricians in Kenya's Coast region.
The Propeller Dual Apprenticeship Programme, implemented by Swisscontact in partnership with the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA), combines classroom training with hands-on workplace experience to equip youth with industry-ready technical skills.
Speaking during the launch in Mombasa, Swisscontact Head of Programme Jimmy Delyon said the initiative builds on the success of the Nairobi programme, which has recorded strong employment outcomes among graduates.
