AFRICAN COUNTRIES URGED TO HARMONISE STANDARDS TO BOOST INTRA AFRICAN TRADE

The 32nd African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO) General Assembly has opened in Mombasa with a strong call for African countries to harmonise product standards and quality control systems to eliminate trade barriers and boost intra-African trade. Hosted by the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), the four-day assembly has brought together delegates from more than 40 countries to advance trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
