HUMAN TRAFFICKING SYNDICATE
Fear has gripped Garissa following increased cases of disappearances of children and youth in a suspected human trafficking syndicate.Locals claim the group targets mainly young people seeking better economic opportunities in foreign countries. Speaking during the commemoration of the Day of African Child in Garissa, Garissa sub-county Education Officer Nastea Sheikh called for concerted efforts from all stakeholders, including the elders and religious leaders, to protect the children from trafficking.
