    A Milimani court has ordered Safaricom to allow former Nairobi central police station officer commanding station (ocs) Samson Talaam renew his sim card after it was reportedly declined unless he has a court order. Talaam who appeared before magistrate Carolyne Nyaguthii, to testify in a case in which he alleges misuse of his phone while in the hands of investigators from the independent policing oversight authority, through his lawyer Danstan Omari told the court that attempts to replace the sim card has been unsuccessful after service provider allegedly insisted on a court directive on the same. Talaam told the court that his phone which was taken as part of investigations was allegedly used to solicit for money which was to be used to secure his release from custody after his arrest following the death of blogger Albert Ojwang’ while in police custody. The case will be mentioned on march 25, 2026 for further directions
