BAJUNI COMMUNITY DEMANDS BINDING MOU WITH DANGOTE BEFORE SH2 2 TRILLION LAMU OIL REFINERY PROJECT PR

The Bajuni community in Lamu County has demanded a legally binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Dangote Group before the proposed Sh2.2 trillion oil refinery project can move forward. Community leaders say indigenous residents have been excluded from key negotiations despite being the host community. They are calling for guaranteed employment opportunities, profit-sharing, community development projects, and direct participation in all discussions concerning the refinery.
