Hundreds of students at Bandari Maritime Academy in Mombasa took part in a student leadership election supervised by officials from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), giving many first-time voters practical experience of Kenya's electoral process ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The Bandari Maritime Academy Students' Association (BMASA) elections followed the same legal framework and procedures used in national elections, with candidates presenting manifestos, debating policies, and campaigning under democratic principles.
