A campaign targeting youth and women, which is aimed at ending perennial conflict in the war-torn Baringo, has been launched. The initiative seeks to provide economic empowerment to women and youth and give psychological support to survivors from the worst-affected areas of Baringo County. The initiative by Action Aid Kenya and the International Peace Centre also seeks to hold a series of mental health conferences to help in addressing trauma left by the protracted conflict on hundreds of residents, some of whom were forced to flee their homes. One such conference, which was held at Marigat, was aimed at helping conflict survivors live normal lives in their communities.
