Beach Management Unit (BMU) leaders in Mombasa have undergone a capacity-building workshop aimed at strengthening fisheries governance and promoting the sustainable management of marine resources as Kenya advances its Blue Economy agenda.
The training, organized by the Kenya Fisheries Service (KeFS) in partnership with Community Action for Nature Conservation (CANACO), focused on fisheries laws, leadership, advocacy, compliance and sustainable resource management. Participants also developed action plans to improve governance and better serve coastal fishing communities.
