Digital ride-hailing platform bolt has announced its intention to bankroll over 1000 drivers to own cars in a move aimed at empowering their drivers. The company says this has been necessitated by the realisation that most drivers are struggling in the current macroeconomic environment and can barely make ends meet. The company further says it will also provide insurance for both drivers and their passengers to cushion them from any losses or eventualities during a live trip.
