A boy child lobby group based in Embu has called for a review of Kenya’s sexual offences laws, arguing that some provisions are harsh and unfairly target young men. The Boy Child Justice Alliance says mandatory sentences under defilement laws have led to long-term imprisonment, limiting chances for rehabilitation, especially in cases involving consensual teenage relationships.
