Broad-based leaders downplay DCP's Ol Kalou victory

Leaders in the broad-based government have dismissed DCP's victory in the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election as an isolated political contest, insisting it does not reflect the national political landscape. ODM Party leader Oburu Oginga and Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya, speaking in Bondo, Siaya County, alongside Kenya Kwanza MPs speaking in Kericho County, maintained that President William Ruto still commands strong support across the country. They cautioned Rigathi Gachagua and his allies against celebrating too early, saying the 2027 political battle is far from over.
