Pius Angasa, a career engineer, has defended his nomination to the country’s topmost financial institution board, the central bank. While appearing before a joint sitting of the national assembly’s finance and planning committee and the senate committee on finance and budget, the nominee was put to task on several fronts, ranging from economic issues, legal and regulatory mandate of the central bank, as well as monetary policy issues. While he struggles with critical fiscal policy issues, he vowed to compensate with his expertise on the technology front.
