Christian faithful mark Palm Sunday ahead of Easter

Christians across the world have congregated in places of worship to mark Palm Sunday. The day signals the beginning of the Holy Week, the final week of Lent, and falls exactly one week before Easter Sunday. From the Holy Family Minor Basilica, Nairobi to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kagio Parish in Kirinyaga, Christians joined holy processions carrying palm fronds and singing hymns. Fr. Gitonga of Kagio led the procession, urging the congregation to pray for the nation and its leaders. The faithful participated in the service, remembering Jesus' journey to the cross and reflecting on the true meaning of Palm Sunday.
